Devoted Pit Bull Awaits Female UPS Driver Daily, Finds Forever Home After Owner’s Passing, Grateful Bond Grows Stronger.3Phuong

There’s a common belief that dogs and UPS drivers don’t typically get along, but if the story in the video below is any indication, that belief is simply not true.

Katie Newhouser is a UPS driver with over fifteen years of experience in the field. Throughout her extensive career, she’s likely encountered more dogs than she can remember, but there’s one dog in particular who managed to carve out a very special place in her heart.

“He would always start barking as I pulled into the apartment complex,” Katie wrote on Facebook. “He would always jump into my truck when I stopped.”

Katie met Leo at an address she frequented at least several times a month. Leo’s owner was a friendly woman named Tina who had been with the dog since he was just a little puppy. As you can imagine, the bond between Tina and Leo was incredibly strong, and their connection was evident even to Katie. However, one day as she stopped to visit Leo, Katie learned that Tina had sadly passed away while she was on vacation. Her son, a Marine, was left in charge of the dog. However, due to his busy schedule, he was unable to provide Leo with the love and attention he had grown accustomed to.

So Katie reached out to the son and asked if he would consider giving the dog to her, as she and Leo had formed a close relationship over the years. Although she already had several dogs in her care, Katie knew Leo would fit right in. Now, they’re all one big happy family.

“It was probably confusing for him at first, [but] he has adapted well,” she said. “He and his brother Moose are inseparable. Bailey, his sister, has taken some time to come around, [but] they actually play now… once Leo was introduced into the house, the whole vibe changed.”
